National Night Out
Neighbors, Not Logistics
Every National Night Out has the same goal: bringing neighbors, first responders, and local organizations together. But behind the scenes, organizers are coordinating everything from vendors and entertainment to traffic, volunteers, and public safety. Portable sanitation is one more detail on that list. When it’s planned correctly, it becomes one less thing to worry about.
Across Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, Service Sanitation helps municipalities, park districts, police departments, and community organizations plan restroom solutions around each event’s attendance, layout, schedule, and accessibility needs.

OUR APPROACH
A Custom Approach
A Custom Approach
A restroom plan that works for a neighborhood block party may not work for a large community event. Attendance, available space, street closures, event hours, and truck access can vary significantly from one location to the next. For National Night Out, we built each sanitation plan around the attendance, available space, street closures, event hours, and truck access at each location.
Planning with Purpose
Planning with Purpose
Before delivery, we reviewed expected attendance, event maps, road closures, vendor areas, entertainment locations, and emergency access routes with organizers. From there, we determined how many restrooms and handwashing stations were needed and identified placement areas that were easy for guests to find without blocking pedestrian traffic, vendors, or emergency vehicles.Setup Made Simple
Setup Made Simple
Delivery times were planned around road closures, vendor setup, traffic, and other crews arriving on site. Drivers were routed to place equipment before streets became crowded or access points closed. When locations or schedules changed, delivery routes and placement plans were adjusted before guests arrived.THE END RESULTS
Keeping the Focus on Community
Across three states, more than 100 portable restrooms and sinks were coordinated for National Night Out celebrations within an eight-hour delivery window. By planning routes, equipment placement, delivery timing, and pickup in advance, organizers could spend less time managing restroom logistics and more time bringing their communities together.
TRUCKLOADS DEPLOYED
Six truckloads of equipment were routed across 18 communities in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
PLACED WITH PURPOSE
Equipment was positioned near key gathering areas while keeping pedestrian routes, vendors, and emergency access clear.

READY FOR EVERY GUEST
Standard and accessible restrooms, along with handwashing stations, provided the right mix of facilities for each event.
