Griffith Rock N’ Rail Festival
Before Broad Street Gets Rocking
For four days, Rock N’ Rail turns the heart of Griffith, Indiana into a community gathering place filled with live music, food, vendors, family activities and a large car and motorcycle show. Streets become event space. Access changes as the weekend unfolds. Crowds move from one attraction to another.
THE CHALLENGE
A Downtown in Motion
Rock N’ Rail isn’t contained inside a park or fairground. The festival closes five blocks of Broad Street and builds the event into downtown Griffith. As vendors arrive, barricades go up and crowds fill the street, routes that were open during setup can become difficult to reach later. Saturday adds another consideration when the Rock N’ Rail Car Show brings vehicles into the festival footprint.

OUR APPROACH
THE END RESULTS
Restrooms That Fit Into the Festival Plan
For a downtown event, success isn’t simply getting the equipment off the truck. The sanitation setup has to continue working after stages are active, sidewalks are busy, vendors are operating and traffic patterns have changed. By planning equipment around the way Rock N’ Rail uses downtown Griffith, we helped give organizers a restroom plan designed for the realities of a multi-day street festival.

READY FOR OPENING
Restroom locations were planned around the festival footprint with downtown still operating and how guests would move through the event.

BUILT AROUND EVENT ACTIVITY
Placement and access planning accounted for changing activity along Broad Street, including the car show.
ONE LESS OPERATION TO MANAGE
Placement, delivery, and service remain coordinated with the larger event plan.
