The Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for empowering new and existing team members with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed inside the organization. This individual will play an integral role in cultivating community, ensuring new team members are comfortable and confident in their new roles before being sent out on their own.

The ideal person for this position should have the mindset of a mentor and the ability to coach new hires day in and day out.  They’ll need to be a patient and collaborative team player, providing regular performance feedback to the onboarding manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with weekly onsite orientation for new employees at various branches across the Midwest.
  • Conduct onsite driver readiness training such as trailer training, pre/post trip inspections, and DOT logging.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the first 90 days of employment, being responsive to new hire questions and/or concerns.
  • Participate in weekly draft pick meetings to identify individuals who may need additional support.
  • Seek continuous feedback from stakeholders to evaluate the success of new hire experience and provide feedback to the onboarding manager.
  • Verify employees are completing appropriate paperwork and carrying corresponding documentation such as pre-trip inspections, driver’s licenses, and medical cards.
  • Conduct weekly inspections with new hires, reviewing equipment functionality, product cleanliness, and overall performance.

Skill & Proficiencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with using technology and web-based applications
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve in personnel related situations
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate and perform cross-functional tasks with individuals from other departments

Requirements

  • 40 Hours/week minimum, Monday-Friday
  • 1-2 years of work experience in recruiting, training facilitation, or instructional design
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license w/insurable driving record
  • Occasional travel to branches across Midwest is required
